If your air conditioner is working but not cooling in the middle of the summer, try to keep your cool. It may be something you can fix yourself! But if it’s not, you can count on Aspire Heating & Cooling to do the job. Our reputation for top-flight service makes us the Triad’s best choice for HVAC services.
Air Conditioner is Working but Not Cooling — What’s the Problem?
You might be able to solve your AC problems on your own. These three issues are all repairable by the average homeowner:
- Your fan is set to “On” rather than “Auto.” Look at your thermostat. If your fan is set to “On,” it’s set to blow all the time. Even when the house is at the correct temperature, it will continue to blow.
- The A/C unit’s air filter is dirty. A dirty air filter prevents the proper flow of air through your A/C, which can cause poor temperature regulation. Check your air filter and change it if it’s clogged with dust and debris. (Not sure where your filter is? Look at this handy article from Today’s Homeowner!)
- Another problem might be a dirty outside unit. If grass, dust, or dirt is clogging your system’s outside unit, it can cause a cooling malfunction.
If it’s not any of these problems, you’re probably going to need to call a professional. Aspire should be the first call that you make!
